Pre-legal
Letters of demand that get taken seriously
A letter of demand on an agency letterhead is often enough to get a stalled invoice paid. Ours are drafted to the facts of your debt, state the amount, the basis and a realistic deadline, and set out what happens next. Every letter is tracked so we know when to follow up.
Who this is for
- Small businesses that want a strong first step without committing to full collection
- Accountants and bookkeepers acting for clients
- Businesses with many small overdue accounts
How it works
- 01
Supply the details
Invoice, amount, debtor details and a note on any prior reminders.
- 02
We draft and send
Tailored letter sent by post and email, with a response deadline.
- 03
Follow-up
If the deadline passes we call the debtor and recommend the next step: a second notice, collection or legal referral.
What you get
Prompt
Letters are prepared promptly once we have your information and have completed our checks.
Accurate
We check the amount and the entity so the letter cannot be dismissed on a technicality.
A documented step
A properly served demand strengthens any later claim.
Letters of demand: common questions
Is a letter of demand legally required before suing?
Not always, but courts and tribunals expect parties to have tried to resolve the matter, and a demand letter is the standard way to show that.
Can I send my own?
You can. An agency letter signals that the matter has been escalated and is being managed by a third party, which is often what prompts payment.
