Owe a debt?

We would rather sort it out with you than against you

If you have received a letter, call, SMS or email from Infexcel Recoveries, a business you have an account with has asked us to help resolve an outstanding balance. This page explains what that means and what you can do.

Your options

  1. Pay the balance. Use the details on your letter or our payment page. Paying resolves the matter and we will confirm in writing.
  2. Arrange a plan. If you cannot pay in full, tell us what you can manage. Most plans are agreed in one conversation.
  3. Tell us if you dispute it. If you believe the amount is wrong or you do not owe it, say so. Collection on the disputed amount pauses while we obtain the creditor's evidence.
  4. Ask for hardship assistance. If illness, job loss or other circumstances make payment impossible right now, see our hardship page.

Your rights

Our contact with you is guided by the ACCC and ASIC Debt collection guideline. That means we will identify ourselves and the creditor, contact you only at reasonable times and frequencies, keep your information private, and stop contacting you about a matter that is genuinely disputed until it is resolved. You can ask us to communicate in writing or through a representative such as a financial counsellor.

Free, independent help

The National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 provides free and confidential financial counselling. Community legal centres can advise on your legal position. We will always work with a counsellor or adviser you appoint.

Questions people ask us

Why has Infexcel Recoveries contacted me?

A business you have an account with has asked us to help resolve an outstanding balance. We will tell you who the creditor is, how much is owed and what it relates to, and give you a reference number.

What if I do not think I owe this money?

Tell us. Collection activity on the disputed amount pauses while we obtain the creditor's evidence and respond to you in writing.

I cannot pay the full amount right now. What are my options?

We can usually arrange a payment plan. If you are experiencing financial hardship, ask about a hardship assessment; we will treat your circumstances confidentially and fairly.

How will you contact me?

By letter, phone, SMS or email, within the contact hours and frequency limits set by the ACCC/ASIC Debt collection guideline. You can ask us to use a preferred method.

Will this affect my credit report?

Infexcel Recoveries does not list debts with credit reporting bodies. For questions about your credit file, contact the credit reporting body directly.

Can I get free help?

Yes. The National Debt Helpline (1800 007 007) offers free, independent financial counselling. You can also contact a community legal centre.
